Case tractor warning symbols
Handle reds first. If two reds are on together, stop and investigate before working on.
Oil pressure
Engine oil pressure is too low. Stop and check the oil level immediately.
Coolant temperature
The engine is running hot. Idle down, stop, and let it cool.
Charging
The battery is not being charged. Check the belt and battery; repair soon.
Hydraulic oil
Low hydraulic pressure or level. Stop using hydraulics and check the oil.
DEF / AdBlue
Exhaust fluid is low or has a fault. Top up with clean DEF.
Exhaust filter
The DPF needs a regen or is blocked. Let the regen finish before shutting down.
Brake
A brake fault or low brake fluid. Check the brakes before working.
Air filter
The air filter is restricted. Clean or replace the element.
Low fuel
Fuel is low. Refuel soon.
Preheat
Glow plugs are warming. Wait for the light to go out before starting.
Steady or flashing
A steady light is a status or a stored warning; a flashing light or one paired with a buzzer is more urgent and wants immediate attention. When in doubt, check the operator display for the message behind the symbol.
Your questions answered
What do the red lights on a Case tractor mean?
Stop and check now. Red covers oil pressure, engine temperature, and low hydraulic oil, all of which can cause damage if ignored.
Why is the DEF light on?
The AdBlue tank is low or the system sees a quality fault. Refill with clean DEF to avoid a power reduction.
Is an amber light safe to keep working with?
For a short time, yes, but check the cause the same day. Amber means service soon, not ignore.
