The Subaru EyeSight light

The EyeSight warning means the twin cameras above the mirror cannot see clearly, so features like adaptive cruise and pre-collision braking switch off. Bright sun, fog, or a dirty windshield are common causes. Clean the glass and let conditions clear; your normal brakes are unaffected.

Your questions answered

  1. Why is my Subaru EyeSight light on?

The cameras are blocked or blinded by dirt, fog, or bright light. Clean the windshield in front of the cameras and the system usually re-enables itself.

  2. What does a flashing check engine light mean on a Subaru?

An active misfire. Ease off the throttle and get it scanned quickly to protect the catalytic converter.

  3. Is the CVT temperature light serious?

Yes. Stop and let the transmission cool. Continuing to drive hot can damage the CVT.
